We recognize and respect your need for privacy and security
as you visit any of LifeNet’s websites. When you
visit these sites to view any pages, learn more about
organ and tissue donation, or read information about LifeNet
allograft tissue, you do so without telling us who you
are and without revealing any personal information. While
we do not collect identifying information about visitors
to our site, we do use standard software to collect information
for the strict purpose of tracking activity on our site.
This allows us to better understand how many people use
our site and which pages and features are most popular.
The only information we normally collect and store is:
- The name of your Internet service provider.
- The web site that referred you to us (if any).
- The date and time the pages were accessed.
- The page or pages you requested.
Collected Information
Information about users may be collected through registration
forms provided on our websites, including on-line surveys,
discussion forums, opted-in e-mail newsletters, and through
the use of cookies. When web site users request pages,
our server automatically recognizes and collects the domain
name and IP address of visitors to our web sites.
Use of Information
LifeNet takes every precaution to protect users' information
from unauthorized use. When users submit sensitive information
via our web sites, the information is considered confidential
both on-line and off-line. We do not allow public access
to the portion of the server that contains user information.
Email
Email addresses provided to us will only be used to send
relevant and requested correspondence. No email addresses
will be provided to third parties unless specifically
requested through correspondence or opt-in opportunities.
Upon request, LifeNet will remove users (and their information)
from our database or permit them to "opt-out"
of any further requested correspondence, such as e-mail
newsletters, that they had previously registered for.
IP Data
Our web server automatically recognizes and collects the
domain name and IP address of visitors to our web sites.
In addition, we collect aggregate tracking information
derived mainly from tallying page views throughout our
sites, and information volunteered by the visitor, such
as survey information and/or site registrations. The information
we collect is used to improve the content of our web pages,
customize the content and/or layout for each individual
visitor and for us to contact visitors about our relevant
products and services or as requested.
Cookies
If a visitor has enabled cookies in a browser, we will
send a cookie file that will only store a unique, random
ID that is maintained throughout the session to track
the pages visited or enhance presentation. This allows
us to provide our site visitors with certain conveniences,
such as delivering unique content and helping with lost
passwords. This information is not shared or transmitted
beyond the session.
About Our Policy
LifeNet makes every reasonable effort to enforce these
policies and protect your information. LifeNet is not
responsible for the content or the privacy polices of
websites to which it may provide links.
If you have questions about this privacy statement or
LifeNet, please do not hesitate to contact us at webmaster@lifenet.org.
